Faeries are kisses that escaped

Wandering by the water near the glen I heard a small voice say, "Good Morning."  I turned and saw a beautiful faerie sitting and by her side was a multicolored butterfly. She was smiling at me and I sat down on a big rock that was right by her side.

I asked her if she had a special job like the other faeries had that lived in my glen and she smiled again and said that her job was one of the best ones because she got to catch all the escaped kisses.

I didn't understand her meaning and she saw the puzzled look on my face and started to giggle.

she said,"Sometimes when people are all alone and thinking of a loved one that they miss terribly they  will make a wish that they could see them and kiss and hug them." "These could be kisses from some one that has moved or they haven't seen for awhile, and they will blow them a kiss." "It is my job to collect all these kisses and take them to the people that they were meant for and put the suggestion in their minds who that kiss was from." "Have you ever done this?" "Thought of someone and wished that you could kiss them or hug them but they are too far away for you to do this, and the next moment they will call , or drop in to see you?"  "This is because I have delivered that kiss and hug and made them think of you and your love for them."

I sat there as this beautiful smiling faerie gently stroked the butterflies wings and thought what a wonderful job that had to be. To go from place to place delivering kisses and hugs to all the lonely people and getting them to think of each other. We as humans miss so much that these faeries are able to do with all their heart and love.

I must remember to call my mom and tell her how much I miss her and send her a faerie kiss and hug too.

I smiled and said goodbye and left the faerie singing softly as I walked out of the glen to my home.
