Faerie of the Stareyed lovers

I was sitting on the rocker on my porch and I happened to glance up into the sky. I noticed that their were some very unusual stars out tonight. They were not shaped like the ordinary ones, they were brighter and more stretched out as if to draw attention to themselves more. I sat there deep in thought and wondered about all the lovers looking at these beautiful stars and holding each other.

"Ahh, Lass, you have noticed my lovely starey stars shinning out tonight."

I looked around to see who had said that and I noticed a bright light and in the middle of that light was a beautiful lavendar winged faerie. She had such beautiful long brown wavey hair that was down to her waist. She smiled at me and came to rest on my rocker arm and she had starlite surrounding her. I couldn't take my eyes off of her. She looked more beautiful than any star I have ever seen. She stood in the middle and lights streamed out on four sides of her as if a star was stretched out so she could be in the middle.

"I am the faerie of lovers she said softly." "I see them walking on the beach or sitting on a porch any where I can find them, and I send these special stars into the skies for them to wish and dream on." She said. "These are very special stars, you see, if you wish upon one of these stars that I send your wishes will come true." "I make them bright and stretch them out so that they glitter and shine so bright that they can't help but notice them and I whisper in their ears to make a silent wish of love." "You would be surprised how unselfishly they wish,"She said. Some of them wish for their mates to be happy and healthy and others wish for long life and love for their mates." " I have never heard anyone of them wish for anything for themselves, it is always for the one that they love."

I sat their and listened to this small wonderful gift from heaven as she explained her job to me. She was so happy and excited to be able to perform this simple task for lovers. How would it feel I wondered to have a job like that. To simply provide bright shiny stars for lovers to wish upon.

She seemed to sense my wish and asked me to wish upon a star for myself. I told her I didn't see any like she discribed up there. She reached in her small pocket and a small light was inside of her tiny hand. She extended it up and the small light lifted up rapidly into the sky and as it did so it became bigger and bigger until I had  to sheild my eyes from its brightness. It kept rising until it was up with the other stars, but much bigger and brighter and stretched out so far it took up the space of three of the others.

"Go ahead,"she said, "Make a wish on that star and I will do my best to make it come true for you."

I thought for a long time and I could only come up with one wish and I hoped that it would come true. I sat up and leaned forward and whispered, "Star lite, Star bright, First star I see this night, I wish I might have this wish that I wish tonight." I closed my eyes and held them tightly closed as I made my wish.

When I opened my eyes, she was gone and in her place was a bouguet of flowers that smelled heavenly and my star was shiny brighter and brighter it started to move and streaked across the sky and i could see its tail as it sailed away a smile came across my face because I knew that the faerie would give me my wish.

I sat back and rocked and rocked and thought that if that faerie was able to give me my wish I would be a very happy woman indeed. That handsome young garage mechanic that took care of my car for all these months would finally notice me and not just talk to me from under a car as he usually did.  Oh!! I can't wait to see if this one comes true for me . I know she said that lovers wished for others but I didn't have a lover so I felt it was ok to wish for myself and who knows, maybe if I saw one of those great stars again and I had a lover, I could make another wish . You can never tell can you?  What a warm and lovely night. I can smell all the flowers in the glen as the wind sends whiffs of their fragrance toward my home. Wonderful, I love this home and glen. Just love it here.

"Only those who truly love, who are truly strong can sustain their lives as a dream. You dwell in your own enchantment. Life throws stones at you, your love, your dream change those stones into the flowers of discovery. Even if you lose, are defeated by things, your triumph will always be exemplary. If no one knows it, then there are places that do. People like you enrich the dreams of the worlds, it is dreams that create history. People like you are unknowing transformers of things, protected by your own fairy-tale, by love." Ben Okri~

This journal, this place, is so magical, I could just jump inside, live here, forever! Peace & Blessed Be, "Bella," Donna Lynn~
